The
message remains
In Bali, the wind has its own season. When it comes, the sky begins to fill. Children and friends gather in fields. You see them crossing the streets on scooters, carrying enormous kites that bend and sway above their heads.

It’s a time of building, testing, laughing, a moment of shared skill and connection. The kites are made with care, each one meant to fly high and carry a small message of gratitude. It is work, play, and prayer all at once.
Alayang began from those afternoons, from watching how something so light could hold so much meaning. We wanted to keep that feeling and give it another form.

Each kite in the collection is built by one of the master shapers of Cepaka, Tabanan, using bamboo chosen for its balance and strength.
Once complete, it’s framed with the same focus, built to last, made to travel, and still true to where it began.

Fifteen percent of every Alayang piece supports local communities and orphanages in Bali. We choose different ones depending on their current needs: from food and education to daily care. Our focus is on the younger generation, because they are the future of Bali, the ones who’ll keep the island’s kite-flying spirit alive.
As Alayang evolves, we’ll continue to grow with the people who make it possible. The shaper, his family, and the community that inspired the idea will remain part of the company’s foundation, so everyone who lifts this craft also rises with it.
